~ MISSIONS ~
"FBC doing some TLC - Touching Lives for Christ!"
We desire to be a dynamic spiritual body empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world. It is our endeavor to accomplish this through a variety of ways.
One way is through monetary giving. A portion of all general funds we receive is designated to support the following mission based ministries.
- The Southern Baptist Convention's Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program is involved in "a wide array of ministries and missions including: evangelism efforts, children's homes, volunteer missions, missions education, new churches, colleges and universities, collegiate ministries, camps, and much more." Please visit www.cpmissions.net for more information.
- The Gulf Coast Baptist Association. Their mission statement is simple: The Gulf Coast Baptist Association exists to encourage fellowship and cooperation among the churches and to provide assistance and service to the churches in fulfilling "The Great Commission of Jesus Christ." Please visit www.gulfcoastbaptist.org for more information.
- The Mary Davis Hill, Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon Mission Funds. These trusted organizations have been presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ for years. The Mary Hill Davis fund supports missions in Texas, the Annie Armstrong fund supports missions in North America, while the Lottie Moon fund supports missions abroad.
Another way in which we strive to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ is through active participation in mission minded organizations. Whether it is by sending missionaries within our church family out into the mission field, volunteering with organizations such as The Star of Hope, participating in fund raising for The Crisis Pregnancy Center, collecting supplies for the Texas Port Ministry, or providing space for a mission based organization to meet, it is not only our heart's desire, but our responsibility to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with everyone and to support others who do so as well.
The above is not an exhaustive list of mission based activities we participate in, but we hope that it will give you some insight into the heart we have for supporting the spreading of the gospel of Christ and the furtherance of God's Kingdom.
